"I can swim!" He answers all to quickly, and a little indignant. Kanda did know how to swim but only the very basics of how not to drown. He learned almost reluctantly since he was drowned once or twice as a child. Overall it was a sore subject.
Kanda takes a deep breath and focuses instead on the second questions, hoping to move the conversation forward instead of stalling on his swimming ability. "Not much, it's always raining or something when I go by the door. Why?"
He's not one to push at others especially when they answer that quick about something they don't like. He wouldn't press the swordsman at all, after all he hated to be pressed to much about annoying matters too. When the other answers about the courtyard he shrugs, "I wanted to see what your impression of it was."
"My only impression is that it was wet so far." Kanda shrugs in return, he really hadn't checked it out. He glares at a native student after they bump into him.
He turns on his heel, starting back down the hallway. "I need to go find someone before it gets dark. If you find anything interesting, let me know."
Inaho watches him for a second and shrugs as he turns and continues on his way. The other seemed to be doing just fine on his own, so Inaho wasn't about to offer any assistance. If anything, Kanda would probably seek him out if he needed something.

No fuss or muss, just a simple question.
